Description

I long to be like you, sis,
Lie cold in the ground like you did
There's room inside for two,
And I'm not grieving for you.

And as we lay in silent bliss
I know you remember me.
I long to be like you,
Lie cold in the ground like you,
There's room inside for two
And I'm not grieving for you.
I'm coming for you.

I'd explain what this thing is about, but instead I'm going to write something. You can hate me later ^-^

Twilight and Celestia trotted side by side through the murky forest, neither of them facing one another. Instead, they both focused on what was ahead of them.

Next to her, Celestia was merely a ghost to Twilight; she was so distant from her former mentor, thus she flinched when a white hoof stopped her in her tracks. The smaller alicorn snapped out of her thoughts and glanced up at the older princess, whom was not looking back at her. Twilight followed her gaze to a familiar shape - one that was blurred by the thick fog surrounding them.

"Is he still here?" Celestia murmured.

Twilight nodded. "He won't leave... I've tried to talk to him, but..." She bit her lip. "It's not that he won't listen. I'm not sure if he can even hear me..."

Celestia lowered her hoof and set it on the ground again. She didn't reply, just began to walk towards the silhouette. Twilight, at first, did not move. Though, there was no point in turning back, so following the mare seemed like the only option.

They both soon stopped behind him. He was much more clearer, now that they had gotten closer, so Twilight could see his state - even worse than before. Usually, his coat would naturally be bristly, but now... it was in large, hard clumps of brown and grey. His short mane couldn't be more disheveled, and his eyes... oh, Celestia, had he bothered to even blink while she was gone?

"Discord," Celestia began. Twilight could see in her eyes; the pity for the draconequus.

Discord, as usual, didn't answer.

"Discord," Celestia repeated, this time nudging him. As soon as her hoof touched his fur, Discord let out an almost inaudible gasp as he jerked away from the alicorn. He raised his head towards the princess and blinked, for what seemed to be the first time in a while. Twilight could now see, with the little moonlight there was, that there was tear stains drying up on his cheeks. In front of him, she saw a familiar rock sticking out of the ground. Carved on it was a name, and some other words which she didn't bother to read - she couldn't look at it for long enough.

"...What?" Discord finally rasped out, cradling himself with his hands.

"Discord... you can't stay out here forever..." Twilight uttered, rather afraid to face her friend.

Discord's lip curled up. "I don't see why not. I have all the time in the world." With that, he swung his head back around to face the gravestone.

"Nothing's going to change, no matter how long you stay here for," Celestia told him sternly.

"And nothing will change if I leave," he retorted, wrapping his tail around himself.

Twilight sighed, taking a step forward. "Maybe not for her, but it can for you."

"No. I'm not going to change. The world around me will - but I won't."

Twilight's ears drooped as she turned to Celestia, wondering what else to say. Celestia's wings shifted uncomfortably on her back, before she leaned down to Discord's level.

"I know what you're going through is hard, Discord..."

Discord gave a scoff. "'Hard' is an understatement."

"...Okay, yes, it is..." she said. "I know how much she meant to you, but..."

"...But she wouldn't want you to stay stuck in time like this," Twilight completed. Celestia nodded.

"But it's not fair!" he suddenly yelled, standing up on his hind legs. Celestia stumbled back in surprise.

"I know everyone loses someone - everyone goes through this. But whether or not there's some sort of afterlife, at least they get to join them either way!" He took a step towards them, making them move back. "I don't! I have to keep on living, watching everyone around me age until they fade to dust! Even if I die and become nothing, I won't have to stay alive, living on with memories I can no longer have!"

Twilight saw that there were tears in his eyes, at least at first. Her vision suddenly became blurry, and she soon realized his words didn't just apply to him, but to her as well. She felt a drop of liquid roll down her face as he continued.

"But I can't fade into nothing! I can't have an afterlife! I can't escape!" His voice broke as he said his last words. "I can't die..." The draconequus collapsed in front of them, weeping.

"Discord..." Twilight choked out, yet she couldn't finish.  She was far too busy blinking away the water in her eyes. Despite her inability to see clearly, however, she could make out a white shape stalking towards him, before kneeling next to him. She blindly followed, the three of them huddling up with each other - some weeps silent, while others being all they could hear.

"Just remember them..." Celestia whimpered. "They'll only die if we forget..."

Uhh... I've been drawing happy things lately, so I needed a break. That's my excuse, anyway ^-^;
